Joni, having been there herself, understands that everybody faces troubled times, and that it's not always easy to deal with. And sometimes, it's just an out-and-out attack of the enemy. Some of her experiences include severe depression, divorce, being a single/working mom, financial struggles, and the loss of several loved ones; the same tough times most everyone faces at one time or another. On a happy note though, she has also gotten married again, and has two sons; Calon and Dillon. She and her husband, Darin, own their own business.
Her oldest, Calon, loves to work with cars and ride his four-wheeler. Their youngest, Dillon, is a Series Champion MX racer, and also does Road Racing, Flat Track, Trials, and SuperMoto. He is also a drummer, and wants to play in a Christian rock band. He says he hopes it's his mom's band! She hopes so too!
Joni's mother, says Joni was singing right after she learned to talk. A few years ago, Joni began to sense a definite call into the ministry of Christian music. She is a member of her home church choir at Huntsville First Church of the Nazarene. She has been a member of Joni and Diane, a duet ministry, that has won awards at the Babbie Mason Music Conference Int'l.
As a soloist, Joni has been a special guest of the nationally known group, the B-Team Angels, has sung the National Anthem at Daytona Bike Week for a National Flat Track event, and other events. She also sings for churches, retreats, block parties, concerts, etc. "I am so thankful to be used by God in any capacity, and for Him to use me through what I have always loved; music, that's so like God!"†
Joni believes that God wants her to use her experiences and music to influence people for Christ, give them encouragement and hope, and help them better understand spiritual warfare. "We are in a war everyday, not of flesh and blood, and you don't have the option of signing-up or not. It is a battle for souls and for living in the victory Jesus died for us to have, not only after we leave this earth, but while we're still here, too!"

debut CD expected by Summer '07.
